Common
questions.

Can I open an account before I arrive?

Some EU digital banks allow it with a passport and an EU address. Traditional banks usually ask for your registration first.

Do I need a local bank?

Not always. Under SEPA rules, employers and landlords should accept any euro IBAN from a SEPA country, though some still prefer a local one.

Which bank should I choose?

It depends on your income, language and whether you need a branch. Your advisor suggests 2 or 3 options that fit you.

Can my partner have a joint account?

Yes, once both of you have the documents the bank asks for.
